Modern, purpose-built forensic mental health environmentWork within a supportive teaching hospital cultureContribute to innovative, recovery-focused careEmployment Type: Permanent Full TimePosition Classification: Clinical PsychologistRemuneration: $113,617 – $138,482 per annumHours Per Week: 38Location: BlacktownWhere you'll be workingLocated at the Budyari Gumada Unit, Blacktown Mental Health Recovery Centre (BMHRC) on the Blacktown Hospital Campus, this role offers the chance to work within a modern, rapidly expanding healthcare precinct serving one of NSW's most diverse communities.You'll join a team committed to collaboration, learning and delivering exceptional care in a purpose-built space.State-of-the-art forensic mental health facilities designed for therapeutic outcomesTeaching hospital environment supporting student learning and professional growthOutdoor staff areas with landscaped gardens to promote wellbeingEasy access to Westpoint Shopping Centre (10-minute walk)Multiple parking and transport options, including onsite parking and nearby Blacktown StationWhat You'll Be DoingAs a Clinical Psychologist, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a high-level psychological service to forensic patients incorporating assessment, treatment and evaluation of an individual's functioning and the provision of comprehensive forensic reports to the Mental Health Review Tribunal.You will contribute to assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and recovery planning while strengthening service quality through education, supervision and ongoing development.Deliver individual therapy, group programs and evidence-based psychological interventionsComplete comprehensive forensic assessments and high-quality reports for the Mental Health Review TribunalParticipate in multidisciplinary team risk assessments, care planning and discharge processesSupport the education and supervision of students and colleagues within a teaching hospital settingContribute to service improvement initiatives, research, quality assurance and professional developmentEssential RequirementsQualification: Master or Doctorate of Clinical Psychology or Forensic PsychologyRegistration: Full registration as Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with an area of practice endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or Forensic Psychology)Selection CriteriaHold a Masters or Doctorate of Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology and have full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
2 years Length of full registration / practice.Sound working knowledge of psychiatric disorders and demonstrated experience providing neuropsychological and clinical assessments for adults diagnosed with a mental illness.Demonstrated experience in providing evidence-based individual and group-based interventions and assessments, and knowledge of how to refer inpatients and outpatients for evidence-based clinical assessments and therapy for adults diagnosed with a mental illness.Demonstrated experience providing high-quality MHRT and forensic reports, including ability to express case formulation and risk management plans would be an advantage.Proven experience working in a multidisciplinary mental health setting and maintaining team work processes as well as highly developed self-initiation and organisation skills.Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.Experience in Clinical Supervision and training other professionals.Applications Close: 11th January ****People with disabilities who meet the selection criteria are encouraged to apply; and where required, WSLHD will implement reasonable adjustment consistent with industry standard.
