Overview
Manage statutory, accounting, and administration functions of the business including but not limited to monthly closure of accounting systems, produce monthly Management Accounts, perform daily and weekly Cashbook reconciliations, set up and monitor monthly progress claims and provide cover for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions when required.
This role contains an element of Group reporting to the UK including but not limited to departmental budgetary reconciliations, ESG reporting, and other ad hoc reports.
Responsibilities
- Focus on daily and month-end accounting to determine results, including P&L; and Balance Sheet activity (including Accruals & Prepayments), and accounts-payable/receivable cash application.
- Preparation, review and distribution of the monthly management accounts, including analysing variances against budget in a timely manner.
- Ownership of annual budget preparations and finance templates.
- Support in delivery of interim and annual audit, including support of external auditor coordination, anomaly review, amendment and final posting.
- Manage relationships with bankers, auditors, and tax authorities.
- Preparation, review and submission of all statutory requirements including STP Reporting, Payroll Tax, Super, IAS, BAS, and annual lodgements.
- Drive value within the business through margin enhancement, lower costs, and operational efficiencies.
- Execute accurate reporting that enables sound analysis and financial recommendations.
- Monthly WIP control and journal posting.
- Authorising weekly payment runs/payroll.
- Cover and understand Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions when required.
- HR oversight including delivering HR processes and producing One to Ones.
- IT oversight including working with local and international partners to ensure protected and working operating systems.
- Completing Group reporting functions to be issued to UK.
Requirements
- A practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
- Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices.
- Strong analytical skills to effectively analyse financial reports.
- In-depth knowledge and ability in budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Team orientated leadership, supporting and developing those around them.
- Proactive problem solver, communicating and implementing controls to remove risk/error in the future.
- 2+ years’ experience working in an accounts department.
- Prior exposure to management accounts or if straight from academia a strong understanding of P&L;, Balance Sheet and double entry accounting.
