Protech are looking for experienced Disposal Support & Plant Operators to perform work with reputable Townsville based client, on a Rotating Roster.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Immediate start
- LGE 3 – LGE 6 Pending Experience
- 38 Hours Per Week – Overtime Available at Times
- Full PPE Required on Site
- Good Rate + Penalties
- 4 Days on, 4 Days off; 06:15am – 6:00pm
- Able to Commence on or After July 1st
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate loader and compactor to push, compact and cover waste
- May be required to work at the Transfer Station at times for parts of some shift
- Empty Transfer Station bins and maintain the area
- Monitor and maintain segregated waste areas
- Ensure site is kept in a clean and tidy condition
- Maintain litter fencing
- Relief of Gatehouse Operator
- Communicate with customers
- Provide support services to the disposal team of Resource Recovery and assist in maintaining the landfill operations in accordance with the TCC Integrated Environmental Authority, and associated management plans, providing safe and unobstructed access for the Council’s waste disposal customers.
- Participate in litter management at landfill and transfer station.
- Supervision of transfer station and recycling processes.
- Undertake manual handling duties associated with the role.
- Maintenance of the signage on the site ensuring it is serviceable.
- The maintenance of the hazardous waste collection sheds to ensure material is correctly stored.
- Operate Landfill machinery and associated equipment within accepted operational and safety procedures, guidelines and standards.
- Temporary relief of gatehouse operator, as needed.
- Rejection of materials outside of approved acceptance criteria.
- Determination of correct tip charges levied for waste disposal.
- Commitment to the principles and philosophy of customer service.
- Exercise responsibility for Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental Protection, EEO, Anti-discrimination and privacy obligation.
- Operate weighbridges and associated technology to accurately record transaction details, accept and process cash, EFTPOS, cheques and vouchers and give receipts as required, approve or reject loads based on accepted Landfill criteria, monitor recycling drop off facilities and notify appropriate agencies when collection is required.
- Carry out prestart, pre-operational and close down checks on allocated vehicles, operate all waste plant safely and efficiently, ensure all transfer bins are serviced when required and dust suppression is undertaken as required, clean and maintain allocated plant.
- Ensure landfill litter is minimised and hazardous waste is managed in accordance with defined procedures.
- Other duties as required commensurate with this classification level and other duties that are reasonably directed.
TICKETS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Mandatory Current Queensland “HR” class driver’s licence.
Front End Loader Ticket (LL).
Compactor Ticket (LR).
Ability to Pass Police Check
Able to Pass Pre-Employment Medical
- Desirable Grader Ticket (LG).
Excavator Ticket (LE).
Dozer Ticket (LZ).
Backhoe Ticket.
