About Us
Our family is seeking a Carer on Wednesdays to support a young-at-heart, music-loving, gentle 63-year-old female who is Plan Managed and registered with NDIS. Our sister has a mild intellectual disability and degenerative lower-limb muscle weakness, requiring a four-wheel walker (Rollator) to aid mobility. She is bladder incontinent and changes herself regularly, and may need assistance to the bathroom if out. She requires meal preparation, assistance with domestic duties, and daily living.
Whilst this role is primarily for Wednesday's, we are seeking flexible applicants who can fill in on other days, when the usual scheduled care for that day is unavailable.
Key Responsibilities
* Care for a 63-year-old female who lives with her active elderly mother in her home and provide one-to-one support to attend activities/appointments such as medical appointments, social outings, attending online meetings, plus domestic duties such as cooking and cleaning, promoting personal care and hygiene
* Daily activities outlined in weekly schedule
* Support Exercise Physiologist, Speech Therapist, & Dietician by following their recommendations
* Enable access/provide transport for appointments & outings using your car
Education
Qualified or working towards qualification Eg: Nursing / Aged Care / Certificate III in Disabilities / Individual support / Physiotherapy / Exercise Physiology / Speech Pathology or similar highly desired but not essential as training will be provided to the right applicant.
Licenses / Certificates
* Current Driver's License
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (through Service NSW)
* Current Police Check
* ABN (or proof of application for ABN)
* First Aid Certificate (preferred)
* Applicants must be 21 years or older to be eligible for this position
Essential Criteria
* Genuine willingness to actively help, engage, and provide care & companionship
* Flexible in nature with a happy disposition
* Reliable and punctual
* Good communication skills
* Familiarity with FaceTime, Zoom, Netflix, YouTube, DVD's, & Word
* Australian citizenship
* Own car
Desired experience
Disability care, mental health care, aged care, community care, or lived experience with a disabled family member, or raising a busy family.
Salary
$45-50 per hour + car allowance
