Our Client Our client is a boutique premium residential construction business specialising in architecturally designed, high-quality homes. They deliver complex projects including basement builds, restorations, and multi-unit developments. The team is tight-knit, highly skilled, and client-focused, working closely with trusted contractors to deliver exceptional outcomes on schedule and on budget while maintaining design integrity. The Role You will be the finance lead, reporting directly to the Directors and overseeing the full finance function, including existing accounts staff. You'll manage budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, project cost control, P&L reporting, AP, AR, payroll, and financial systems. In addition, you will oversee tax, statutory compliance, insurance, and risk management, providing commercial advice and insight to support strategic business decisions. This is a hands-on role in a small, busy team, offering the opportunity to shape financial processes, improve systems, and ensure projects and the business remain financially robust. The Requirements * Commerce/Accounting degree with CA/CPA membership or progress * 4 years' experience in accounting/finance roles with exposure to commercial decision-making * Construction or project-based finance experience highly desirable, particularly high-end residential * Hands-on experience managing AP, AR, payroll, cashflow, reporting, and compliance * Xero essential; Buildxact desirable * Strong commercial judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills * Comfortable advising Directors and influencing financial and operational decisions The Benefits * Salary $130‑150K super * Office-based role in Melbourne with a boutique, high-end construction business * Lead the finance function with real ownership and influence on strategic decisions * Work directly with experienced Directors in a collaborative, design-led environment * Join a small, skilled team delivering complex, high-quality residential projects In the past 5 years we have been extremely humbled to have placed over 16,000 people into meaningful employment.
