A Federal Government department is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to assist in the design and development of high-quality visualisations and solutions in support of business and technical requirements and for solving highly complex problems.
This role will be focused around building fit-for-purpose analytics solutions within a large EDW environment. The work will involve connecting source system data to front end reporting products (Power BI, SAP BO etc).
You will be responsible for performing detailed analysis and evaluation of complex business processes and requirements. Managing the design, development and maintenance of enterprise data warehouse/data lake. Additionally managing the development of data engineering frameworks and best practices for processes aimed at enhancing the availability, security and performance of data assets.
Contract Details:
* Initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options
* Estimated start date July 2026 (pending onboarding and Availability)
* Baseline Security Clearance required (you must be an Australian Citizen to go through the vetting process).
* Full time 40-hour work week
* This role can be located in ACT or VIC.
* Hybrid working arrangement. Mix of onsite and WFH - The contractor is expected to work onsite for the first 6 weeks before a hybrid flexible working arrangement can be considered.
Key responsibilities:
* Responsible for the design and development of high-quality solutions in support of business and technical requirements and for solving highly complex problems.
* Perform detailed analysis and evaluation of complex business processes and requirements
* Manage the design, development and maintenance of enterprise data warehouse/data lake
* Solve complex problems and deliver solutions to perform high-level analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluations
* Apply a variety of end-to-end visualisation techniques and designs the content/appearance of data visuals.
Desired experience:
* Experience working with reporting/data visualisation products (Power BI, Tableau or Qlik).
* Experience in developing Reports in SAP Business Objects (Desirable)
* An understanding of or experience with large Teradata EDW environments would be desirable
* Experience with Data Engineering or connecting source system data to front end reporting products or Dashboards would be desirable
* Familiar with data platforms such as Cloudera Data Lake, Teradata, Microsoft Azure or AWS would be desirable
* Proven experience in designing and delivering data analytics solutions for large and complex project
