From supporting children and families to empowering people with disability, mental health, or those seeking refuge — we're here to break down barriers and build better lives.Role: Child & Family Practitioner – Foster & Kinship Care Office Location: Ross River Rd, Aitkenvale (Townsville) Employment Type: Permanent Full Time, 38 hours per week Remuneration: $91,965 – $106,250 + 12% superannuation In this role, you will deliver high-quality casework, support and supervision to children and young people in family-based care, including Foster and Kinship Care.You will work closely with carers, children and young people, government agencies and community partners to develop, implement and review individualised care plans.The role is vital in promoting placement stability, meeting Queensland standards of care, and prioritising the safety, wellbeing and cultural needs of children and young people.Key Responsibilities:Undertake child-focused casework practice, including assessment and case planning, in collaboration with government agencies, carers, children, families and key stakeholdersProvide ongoing support and supervision to Foster and Kinship Carers, including home visits and telephone supportSupport the development, implementation and review of Cultural Support PlansAssist carers to actively participate in the case planning process and implement agreed strategiesEnsure appropriate risk assessments, safety plans, behavioural support plans and documentation are completed and maintainedMaintain accurate, timely and compliant records, including carer renewals, foster care agreements and case notes within the CIRTS databaseContribute to a collaborative team environment and uphold Life Without Barriers' CARE model and practice frameworkSkills & ExperienceA recognised Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology or a related human services fieldDemonstrated experience within child protection ideally within an out of home care environment, and/or supporting foster and kinship carersExperience working with children, families and carers using a strength-based, culturally responsive approachStrong understanding of Queensland child protection legislation, standards of care and permanency principlesAbility to work within a cohesive, multidisciplinary teamHigh-level written and verbal communication skills, including case documentationKnowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural frameworks and practiceA current, unrestricted driver's licenceSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and any relevant stated based checks.#J-18808-Ljbffr
