Is seeking a Business Partner, Finance and Payroll to provide leadership and oversight of the finance and payroll functions while working collaboratively across the organisation to ensure strong financial and payroll governance.

The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all financial and payroll regulatory obligations, preparation of compliant and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders and leading continuous improvements across payroll, financial systems and processes.

The Business Partner, Finance and Payroll supports program managers to achieve financial outcomes by providing meaningful financial insights, analysis, guidance and advice. This includes partnering with program managers to develop and manage budgets and forecasts, and to monitor and analyse financial performance against agreed budgets

The role will perform duties of a specialised nature including Return to Work reconciliations, FBT, STP, salary sacrifice, accounting processes, general ledger reconciliations and provide collaborative support and guidance to the finance and payroll team.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate prior experience in a similar role along with the ability to engage and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including executive management, program managers, and external parties.

As part of this role you will:

· Lead by example in adhering to WHS&W policies and procedures and ensure all team members understand and comply with their WHS&W responsibilities.

· Actively lead the team in identifying, reporting work place hazards, and the implementation of appropriate controls.

· Ensure workplace incidents are reported in a timely manner.

· Actively participate in and support return to work programs for team members.

· Actively promote a psychologically safe work environment.

· Maintain personal wellbeing by effectively managing workload and stress levels.

Finance and Accounts

· Lead and coordinate the finance and accounts team to ensure finance and accounts end to end functions are effective and efficient, meet timelines, are compliant and accurate.

· Lead and coordinate the continuous improvement of accounts receivable and payable, financial systems and processes.

· Assist with the preparation and lodgment of Financial Statements, Financial Acquittals, Industry Participation Plans and other relevant reporting as required and in accordance with contractual obligations.

· Monitor and interpret Accounting Standards, Goods and Services Tax, other relevant Legislation and Regulations.

Policies and Governance

· Lead the development of governance improvements, including policies and procedures.

· Ensure finance and accounts records remain pertinent, process's are approved and executed with high level of internal control and appropriate segregation of duties, compliant with legislation, regulations and policies.

Projects and Specialist Duties

· Perform duties of a specialised nature including, BAS, revenue recognition, fixed assets, treasury management, lease accounting and general ledger reconciliations.

· Undertake project work including planning, coordinating and administration as required.

· Collaborate and gather data and insights for informed decision-making.

· Act as a trusted advisor to management and program managers, providing guidance on delivering financial outcomes by providing financial insights, analysis, guidance and advice.

· Collaborate with program managers to develop accurate, realistic budget proposals and forecasts, including ongoing monitoring of financial performance against budgets.

· Contribute to the preparation and submission of financial reports to regulatory bodies including audits and funding acquittals.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes


Essential

· Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or business.

· Experience working as a Finance Business Partner (or similar function) in a complex, multi-program organisation.

· Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.

· Proven ability to engage and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including executive management, program managers, and external parties.

Highly Regarded

· CPA, CA or equivalent certification or studying towards.

· Experience in providing monitoring financial performance against budgets.

· Ability to identify potential improvements to processes and service standards.

· Experience preparing financial reports to regulatory bodies including audits and funding acquittals.

· Experience in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

· Experience working with ATSI peoples, families and communities.

· Experience working in the community services or not-for-profit sector.

· Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

· Understanding of the challenges and opportunities in delivering services to people with high complex needs.
