As a vital member of our nursing team, the Roster Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining the daily rostering and scheduling of all nursing staff. This dynamic position involves proactively addressing Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) deficits in monthly nursing rosters under the guidance of Nurse Managers. You will be responsible for arranging backfill for unplanned leave, such as sick or bereavement leave, ensuring that continuity of care is upheld across all patient areas. By collaborating closely with Nurse Managers and After-Hours Duty Coordinators, you will deploy appropriately qualified staff to meet the needs of our patients. In addition to managing nursing rosters, you will update our ProAct database with any adjustments you make, ensuring accurate and timely records. As a supportive team member, you’ll also assist colleagues by answering phones and providing administrative support as needed. Key Responsibilities: Identify and fill FTE deficits on nursing rosters with qualified staff. Maintain nursing services during unexpected leave by reallocating staff in consultation with Nurse Managers and Duty Coordinators. Update nursing rosters in the ProAct database to ensure accurate staff movement records. Understand the Nursing Award and Enterprise Agreement to meet required nursing hours per patient per day. Collaborate with the Nurse Manager of Clinical Information Systems for optimal nursing staff rostering. Ensure compliance with the State Records Management Standard for all official records. What We’re Looking For: Previous clerical/receptionist experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with office equipment. Knowledge of general administration practices, procedures, and regulations. A strong commitment to customer service principles. An understanding of confidentiality principles and practices.
