I'm currently partnering with a well-established civil contractor that has been operating successfully in Australia for more than 35 years. This business combines the agility and close-knit culture, with the technical capability and systems you'd expect from a Tier 1, backed by the resources of a global construction group.
The Role
As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of works on site, working closely with the project team to ensure safety, quality, and programme outcomes are met.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting and maintaining safety, quality, and environmental standards on site
* Monitoring construction progress and ensuring compliance with method statements and ITPs
* Managing day-to-day site activities including supervision, productivity tracking, cost control and estimating
* Overseeing procurement and subcontractor management, including claims assessment and governance compliance
* Identifying and escalating risks that may impact programme or delivery
* Ensuring works align with company procedures, legislation, and industry best practice
About You:
* A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
* Hands-on site experience in roadworks (earthworks, drainage, pavements) and/or bridgeworks (concrete structures)
* A solid understanding of safety legislation, Australian Standards, and industry codes
* The ability to develop and manage construction programmes, including critical path networks and short-term look-ahead schedules
* Experience with scope management, variations, and contractual processes
* Strong planning, reporting, and stakeholder coordination skills
