General Manager | Community Education (Temp)

Pay: $78 - 83/hr + super Location: Melbourne - Western suburbs. Multi-site presence required. Contract Type: 3 month contract | Potential for Temp to Perm Start Date: ASAP

Tradewind Australia is partnering with a respected community organisation in Melbourne's western suburbs to recruit an experienced Interim General Manager - Community Education.
This role requires a proven RTO leader with strong working knowledge of ASQA standards, funding contracts and compliance frameworks. The organisation's education portfolio is a substantial, government-funded RTO, and prior senior leadership experience within an RTO environment is essential.
If you have led an RTO through compliance, performance and growth, and can step in to provide steady, strategic oversight during a period of restructure, this opportunity will suit you.

About the Role

As General Manager - Community Education, you will provide executive-level leadership across the organisation's Registered Training Organisation (TOID), ensuring regulatory compliance, contractual performance and financial sustainability.
This is not a general community services leadership role - it is a senior RTO management position requiring strong operational knowledge of:
* ASQA Standards and regulatory obligations
* Victorian and Commonwealth government funded training contracts
* AVETMISS and reporting requirements
* Student management systems and compliance data integrity
* Audit readiness and risk mitigation
You will oversee Program Managers across accredited training streams, ensuring program viability, quality delivery and regulatory adherence across multiple sites.
This role sits on the Senior Management Team and will play a key role in RTO leadership restructure and portfolio optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide strategic and operational leadership of the RTO portfolio
* Ensure full compliance with ASQA, funding bodies and regulatory requirements
* Oversee audit preparation, reporting accuracy and risk management frameworks
* Lead Program Managers to deliver against funding KPIs and contractual obligations
* Monitor financial performance and ensure program sustainability
* Drive system improvements across compliance, reporting and quality assurance
* Contribute to whole-of-organisation strategic planning

What You'll Bring

Essential - RTO Leadership Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in senior leadership role
* Demonstrated experience managing ASQA compliance and audit processes
* Strong understanding of government-funded programs
* Experience overseeing complex compliance reporting and regulatory risk mitigation
* Proven ability to lead multi-site education teams
* Tertiary qualification in Education, Management or related discipline
Additional Requirements
* Current Working with Children Check
* Current National Police Check
* Victorian Driver Licence
* Ability to meet all RTO eligibility requirements
