Job Summary
The Department Director is responsible for setting the strategic roadmap and vision for the surgical department. They will oversee the management of surgical caseloads, guide interns and team members, and perform orthopaedic, soft tissue, neurologic, and emergency surgeries as needed.
Main Responsibilities
* Manage surgical caseloads and lead the surgical team
* Collaborate across departments to ensure optimal patient care
* Mentor and support the development of interns and team members
* Perform complex surgeries including orthopaedic, soft tissue, neurologic, and emergency procedures
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Diplomate or equivalent status in Small Animal Surgery (ACVS/ECVS/FANZCVS) and be eligible for Specialist Registration with the Australian Veterinary Board Council. They will be a strong leader with excellent communication skills, able to work effectively in a team environment.
