Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Infectious Disease
Join the team as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and help transform how we detect and treat bloodstream infections and sepsis in critically ill patients.

The role is funded by the Henderson Foundation to support infectious diseases research and will primarily contribute to the MRFF project: Integrating sequencing technologies for bloodstream infection and sepsis diagnostics in critically ill patients.
Responsibilities
- Producing high-quality research outputs and securing competitive funding.
- Supervising Honours and HDR students.
- Translating research into practice, including commercialisation of UQ intellectual property.
- Contributing to internal service roles and developing external partnerships.

About You
- Completion or near completion of a PhD in a relevant discipline.
- Specialist registration in Australia with Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) in Infectious Diseases or Microbiology (or both) is highly desirable.
- An emerging research profile with evidence of publications and funding contributions.
- Experience in internal service roles and external engagement.
