As a Compliance Delivery Manager your responsibility is to lead a team tasked with managing complex environmental issues including the regulation of environmentally relevant activities, compliance and complaints management, incident response and they day to day management of the team. Compliance Delivery Managers (AO7) work to improve the State’s environmental performance by managing teams of Environmental Officers responsible for compliance activities. Compliance Delivery Managers promote compliance with relevant legislation and policies and advocate consistency in compliance decision making and advocate for compliance improvements in the range of industries across the state. They provide guidance and advice on compliance activities and environmental risks to key industry stakeholders and management; consider recommendations and make decisions on compliance enforcement.
As the Compliance Delivery Manager, you will:
* Lead, manage and supervise a team, including work allocation and setting priorities to deliver proactive environmental assessment, compliance and investigation activities.
* Provide timely and accurate high-level support to the Director (Compliance) on contentious and technically complex environmental issues.
* Review and implement business improvement initiatives and provide input into business planning and policy documents.
* Commence, lead and participate in investigations of causes of environmental harm.
* Advise, liaise, consult and negotiate with stakeholders across government, industry and community groups on environmental issues and implementation of policy.
* Prepare a range of correspondence including ministerial and executive correspondence, briefing notes and information documents.
* Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.

* Demonstrated strong ability to lead, manage and supervise a team in a regulatory service delivery environment and implement systems to promote the team's performance management, ethical behaviour, sound decision making and recognise and support opportunities for professional development.
* High-level working knowledge of, or a proven ability to rapidly acquire, high-level knowledge of, the department's Regulatory Strategy and related legislation and policy.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills which promote and sustain positive relationships with team members and clients and conducts negotiations with a clear understanding of key issues and achieves sound environmental outcomes in difficult and complex circumstances.
* Demonstrated track record in managing multiple high-level projects that require high-level technical skills in environmental management.
* High-level capability to analyse and research issues and implement decisions to solve known or anticipate environmental management concerns.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare high quality correspondence including statutory notices, letters, ministerial and executive correspondence and briefings in a timely manner.
