By translating and commercialising ground-breaking technologies and research excellence, empowering a culture of collaboration, and prioritising our partner’s needs we help them achieve their strategic ambitions and generate global impact.Job DescriptionAs the Commercialisation Senior Associate/Associate (Business and Social Innovation) you will be responsible for identifying, developing and leading commercial opportunities, transactions and strategic initiatives for Business and Social Innovation.You will work closely with Griffith researchers to identify and assess potential commercial opportunities and through business development and stakeholder engagement activities with industry and government departments identify and negotiate commercial transactions including consultancies, commercial research agreements and IP transactions.You will play a key role in advancing commercial opportunities across the University, work with researchers on project proposals and, along with key Griffith staff, engaging with partners to help shape strategic partnerships. As a key member of the team, you will lead aspects of the knowledge exchange, from the identification of commercial research to the submission of project proposals and negotiations of commercial agreements.About youTo be successful in this role you will hold a postgraduate degree and have proven expertise in a similar role and a strong track record of success in identifying, managing and commercialising research related to Business and Social Innovation. You will have demonstrated success in supporting project proposal, budgets and negotiating agreements in addition to engaging with industry and government departments.Your ability to deal with complex situations and communicate clearly will be an asset to the team.Demonstrated skills required to assess research in terms of its commercial potential; identify and negotiate commercial opportunities; and a proven ability to scope, pitch and negotiate commercial transactions and agreements are essential.You will need to be a self-starter and team player. You will be given the autonomy and responsibility to make a significant contribution to Griffith Enterprise and the University.What we can offerThis is a continuing, full-time position and will be primarily based at either Griffith University Gold Coast or Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.Salary RangeThe full-time base salary for the Commercialisation Senior Associate will be HEW Level 9 in the range $132,655 - $137,398 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total package will be in the range $155,206 - $160,756 per annum.The full-time base salary for the Commercialisation Associate will be HEW Level 8 in the range $113,713 - $127,923 per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
