Local Workforce Hire has been engaged to assist in the recruitment of an experienced Senior Family Lawyer to join a respected organisation committed to delivering culturally informed, client-centred legal services.
We are seeking an accomplished practitioner with deep experience in
Family Law
capable of leading casework, supporting junior staff, and upholding the highest standards of professional practice.
About the Role
In this senior position, you will provide high-level legal advice and representation across complex family law matters, including parenting, safety, family violence, and related proceedings. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives, continuous improvement, and service quality.
Responsibilities
Conducting complex family law matters before courts and tribunals
Delivering culturally appropriate, trauma-informed legal support
Leading legal service delivery within your practice area
Mentoring lawyers and support staff
Ensuring compliance with professional, ethical, and organisational standards
Contributing to policies, procedures, law reform, and service development
Supporting clients through a holistic and collaborative service model
What You Need to Succeed
Minimum 5 years' post-admission experience, including significant Family Law expertise
Strong advocacy skills and experience running complex matters
Proven capability in mentoring legal staff and supporting junior practitioners
High-level communication skills and the ability to work with diverse clients
A proactive, organised, and resilient approach to managing caseloads
Eligibility to practise in the relevant State and Federal Courts
A current Working With Vulnerable People registration (or ability to obtain)
National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
