The Sales Cadet role is a permanent full-time position based in Townsville.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Cadet to join our team and develop into a future sales professional.

In this entry‑level role, you’ll support our sales team in promoting and selling new and used industrial machinery across your designated market area. You’ll represent top global brands including JCB, Hyundai Construction Equipment, Ammann, ITR and more—building product knowledge and confidence as you learn.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience through structured training, mentoring, and active customer engagement. From day one, you’ll be involved in the full sales process, delivering professional, end‑to‑end service and ensuring customers receive the exceptional Honeycombes experience we’re known for.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will contribute to team success and expand your skills, enjoying a variety of work, where no 2 days are the same!

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Support machinery sales in line with Honeycombes’ dealership agreements and maintain accurate customer records.
* Build strong product knowledge across new and used machinery, applying solution‑selling techniques to match customer needs.
* Respond promptly to enquiries, prepare quotes, and carry out proactive sales activities including cold calling, customer visits and follow‑ups.
* Work closely with the Sales/Branch Manager to resolve customer issues, meet expectations, and complete all required sales documentation.
* Coordinate finance processes, provide accurate information to the Finance team, and prepare reports as requested.
* Manage invoicing, compliance requirements, and organise delivery and professional handover of machinery.
* Conduct post‑delivery follow‑ups to support Honeycombes’ Customer Satisfaction Index targets.
* Represent Honeycombes professionally, uphold company values, and follow all policies, procedures, and safety standards.
* Care for company and customer assets, maintain respectful relationships, and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
* Demonstrate initiative, adaptability and a solution‑focused mindset, undertaking additional tasks or training as required.

About you

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* High attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
* Customer – focused approach with a willingness to learn solution selling
* Strong organisational and time – management skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Motivated to develop a career in machinery sales
* Current valid Driver’s Licence
* Willingness to undertake training and professional development
* Motor Vehicle – Sales Licence (or working towards obtaining one)
* Completed Year 12 (desirable)
* Previous industrial/construction machinery and equipment product knowledge (favourable)
* Sound customer service skills and experience
* Intermediate computer skills with the ability to operate internal software applications
