About the Role
As Deputy Principal - Junior Secondary, you will play a vital role in delivering the vision and values of our school and the Department of Education. This role is critical to improving educational outcomes for our students in Years 7, 8, and 9 and supporting the capability development of staff, having a major influence on progressing quality teaching and learning and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and parents.
You will be a member of the Indooroopilly Leadership Team responsible for enacting the school's vision and values. Some of the key tasks undertaken by the Deputy Principal - Junior Secondary at Indooroopilly State High School in collaboration with the Junior School Principal, Head of Department - Junior Secondary and other school leaders are: - Enact the school's vision and values to ensure the further evolution of a high-quality professional learning community developing students as futures-focused, global citizens. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Junior Secondary Department Action Plan and associated budgets, utilising whole school and year level data to develop strategic responses and inform school decision making. Academic monitoring and intervention
- Social, emotional and behavioural monitoring and intervention (develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary)
- Utilise high quality multi-media and information technology skills to both personally develop projects and quality assure the projects of others. Enact the school's entrepreneurial priority across the entire school community. Implement globally-influenced innovative practices that translate into positive learning, teaching and social opportunities and outcomes for junior secondary students. Instigate and maintain partnerships with parents and key institutions to establish, progress and strengthen community networks beneficial to our junior secondary students. Line manage 3 Heads of Department and faculty areas across Years 7-12.
