The Warragul Linen Service (WLS) is a business unit of the West Gippsland Healthcare Group and are a leading linen service provider to several public hospitals across Melbourne metropolitan and surrounds. Our laundry plant is situated in the regional town of Warragul, behind the West Gippsland Hospital.
We are currently seeking versatile candidates to work as a Laundry Hand at our production plant. The role includes manual labor tasks such as folding, sorting, lifting and packing. You will be working with industrial machinery, facilitating the washing, drying, processing and distribution of healthcare linen within a team environment.
Our plant operates Monday to Friday with morning shifts generally starting between the hours of 4:00am and 6:30am commonly working 6-8 hour shifts. Afternoon shifts generally start between 12:30pm and 3:00pm commonly working 6-8 hour shifts, with the plant finishing at 9:30pm Monday to Wednesday, and 6:00pm Thursday and Friday. Contracts of up to 30 hours per week are available. Exact hours will be negotiated with the successful applicants.

Major tasks include:
* Processing linen returns.
* Sorting, both pre and post wash.
* Operating industrial batch washers and dryers.
* Loading and unloading washer extractors.
* Processing linen through industrial machinery e.g. ironers and folders.
* Quality checks and inspections.
* Packing and linen preparation for distribution.

Comprehensive on the job training provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) available if required.
These roles require you to be on your feet all day and involve manual handling of linen.
IMPORTANT:Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) may be required prior to commencement.
