Description
The NWRH 8 bed ICU is led by an Intensivist who is a Fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM). Clinical care is provided by fully qualified Intensivists who are fellows of the CICM, with a 24/7 on-call cover arrangement.
The unit possesses state-of-the-art equipment to provide advanced mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement, haemodynamic monitoring, echocardiography, ultrasound‑guided procedures, bronchoscopy and other ICU therapies.
We will provide you with all the required support in the form of immediately available and easily approachable Specialist supervision, learning resources and regular teaching to help you perform your role safely and effectively.
Our teaching program includes weekly teaching sessions and weekly CICM First Part Examination preparation sessions. Our ICU registrars are also welcome to attend the BASIC course, which we run twice per year. One of the Consultants has been a Primary CICM examiner.
Doctors who are not in a training stream (Unaccredited Registrars/Senior Residents) and who are seeking hands‑on experience with high‑acuity Intensive Care are also welcome to apply.
