Macedon Ranges Shire Council is a values-driven organisation committed to fostering a thriving, inclusive and sustainable community. Located on the Country of the Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Peoples, the region is celebrated for its natural beauty, vibrant townships, creative industries and strong sense of connection. The organisation is focused on strengthening culture, collaboration and service delivery to achieve the outcomes of its Council Plan and long-term community vision.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director Community provides strategic and operational leadership across the portfolios of Community Services, Community Strengthening, Communications and Advocacy, and Community and Social Planning. This role is pivotal in guiding people-focused services that enhance wellbeing, participation and inclusion while advancing Council's advocacy and engagement agenda.
As a key member of the Executive Management Team, you will play a central role in shaping organisational culture, driving cross-directorate collaboration, and delivering high-quality services that reflect community aspirations. Current priorities include leading the review of Council's kindergarten strategy, driving the customer experience journey project, and supporting the region's emergency management and recovery capability.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a stable, high-performing executive team and contribute to a council recognised for its innovation, inclusivity and strong regional identity.
