Position Overview
The Business Development Representative (BDR) in Go-To-Market plays a key role supporting the sales team deliver new client acquisition, market expansion, and strategic growth across Automic's product suite.
In this role, you will identify contribute to the identification of potential clients, generate qualified sales opportunities, and build a strong pipeline for the sales team. The BDR plays a critical role in helping execute Automic's growth strategy by engaging prospective clients and positioning our leading tech-enabled investor administration services.
This role is ideal for someone early in their sales career who is eager to develop expertise in fintech, SaaS, and financial services while gaining exposure to capital markets and listed companies.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and research prospective clients including ASX-listed companies, private companies, and fund managers.
* Generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting (calls, email outreach, LinkedIn, and events).
* Conduct market research to identify high-value prospects.
Lead Qualification
* Qualify inbound and outbound leads to determine business needs and fit.
* Schedule discovery meetings for the senior sales team.
* Ensure leads meet defined qualification criteria before progressing to the sales pipeline
* Maintain accurate prospect and pipeline data in the HubSpot.
* Work closely with Account Executives to progress opportunities through the sales process.
* Support targeted outreach campaigns with Marketing.
* Actively contribute to proposal preparation and RFP responses
Client Engagement
* Develop a strong understanding of Automic's services and how they create value for clients
* Represent the business professionally when communicating with prospective clients.
Experience & Qualifications required to be successful in this GTM role
* 3+ years' experience in sales, business development, or lead generation.
* Experience in SaaS, fintech, financial services, or technology required.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Confidence in cold outreach and prospect engagement.
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
* Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot is preferred.
* Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field is desirable
