SES Band 1 - Assistant Secretary Joint Command, Control, Communications and Systems Salary may be negotiated with the successful candidate Introduction The Department of Defence is seeking a senior executive to fill the position of Assistant Secretary Joint Command, Control, Communications & Systems (JC4S).As part of the Senior Leadership Group, you will play a key role in promoting and influencing a shared commitment to the strategic direction of Defence, as most recently detailed in the National Defence Strategy 2024. Your Role The JC4S Branch integrates information technologies to enhance combat effectiveness for the Australian Defence Force. JC4S Branch acquires and sustains information technology for Australia's Defence Forces across the country and in operational theatres overseas.The branch provides computer applications that support planning and conduct of operations, including IT infrastructure and geographic information systems for deployed military forces across the Submarine, Maritime, Land and Aerospace Domains.The Assistant Secretary JC4S is the Accountable Officer for the delivery of the assigned capability within Joint Systems Division, in Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). As the Lead Delivery Manager, the branch provides strategic guidance for JC4S Branch, across sustainment and major project activities, cultural reform and personnel management.
