A leading professional services firm is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead its payroll function during a significant transformation, including the rollout of Dayforce as its new payroll platform.
This is a high-visibility role partnering closely with the Head of Finance and CFO, playing an integral part in modernising systems, strengthening controls and embedding operational excellence across the payroll function.
The Opportunity
As Payroll Manager, you will:
* Lead and develop a team of two payroll professionals, building capability, accountability and engagement.
* Oversee end-to-end BAU payroll operations across weekly and monthly cycles, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
* Confidently manage payroll across multiple employing entities, maintaining strong governance, reporting integrity and legislative compliance.
* Partner directly with the Head of Finance and CFO to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance and financial alignment.
* Play a key role in the implementation and optimisation of Dayforce, supporting system configuration, testing and process redesign.
* Strengthen governance frameworks, controls and payroll compliance standards.
* Drive process improvements to stabilise BAU operations and create a scalable, future-ready payroll function.

About You
You will bring:
* Proven payroll leadership experience within a professional services or similarly complex environment. Law firm or big 4 accounting is preferred.
* Strong technical knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, compliance requirements and best-practice controls.
* Experience contributing to or leading a payroll system implementation (Dayforce experience highly regarded).
* Confidence managing payroll across multiple entities.
* A collaborative, people-focused leadership style with the ability to develop and mentor a small team.
* The ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders, including CFO level.
* A hands-on mindset, comfortable operating strategically while remaining close to the detail.
