Job Title: Group Head of Safety and Wellbeing

A message from our organization:

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead our safety and wellbeing strategy, ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our team members.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing our Safety and Wellbeing Strategy, policies, and processes. You will work closely with senior leaders to identify strategic gaps and opportunities, and implement evidence-based initiatives to improve workplace safety and wellbeing.


About the Role

* Safety Leadership: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement safety protocols, manage the Safety Management System (SMS), and ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
* Critical Risk Framework: Develop and implement an evidence-based critical risk framework for Health and Wellbeing, including Psychosocial Hazards.
* Performance Indicators: Partner with operational stakeholders to develop and achieve key performance indicators for health, safety, wellbeing, and injury management programs.
* WHS Governance: Lead WHS governance and reporting to inform Senior Leaders, Executive Team, and Board for due diligence and decision-making.
* Health and Safety Training: Partner with key stakeholders to implement robust health and safety training programs.
* Data Analysis: Measure, monitor, and report on health, safety, wellbeing, workers' compensation, and self-insurance performance programs.
* Incident Investigations: Provide specialist advice for workplace incidents and investigations in partnership with operational leaders.
* Workers Compensation Self-Insurance: Lead the workers compensation self-insurance function, ensuring governance and compliance, and applying best practice approaches to maintain self-insurance license.


Key Responsibilities

* Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the Safety, Wellbeing and Injury Management Strategy to ensure that identified objectives are monitored, implemented, and reviewed.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Work with stakeholders to identify strategic gaps and opportunities through data analysis, and assist in the development and implementation of Safety & Wellbeing strategic initiatives.
* Problem-Solving: Support operational teams with problem-solving, issue resolution, and being a consistent link to regulators and key stakeholders.
* Risk Management: Partner with franchisors and QSR competitors to identify risks and align on health, safety, wellbeing, and injury management enhancements.
* Trend Analysis: Partner with Executives and Senior Leaders to proactively identify areas of risk, injury, and provide regular insights to all levels of the business through trend analysis, interactions, observations, audits, and inspections.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

* Minimum 10 years: In a senior Safety and Wellbeing operational leadership role, leading safety and wellbeing across an Enterprise, preferably within retail, hospitality, or non-profit organisation.
* Demonstrated Experience: In implementing Psychosocial Risk management strategy and associated program.
* Strong Leadership Skills: Ability to think strategically and implement operationally in a complex and challenging environment, and foster a workplace culture consistent with our organization's values.
* Proven Success: In leading successful, engaged, and high-performing teams to deliver organisational objectives.
* Deep Knowledge: Of industry, regulatory framework, and relevant legislation, as well as experience in risk and compliance management structures.
* Experience in Self-Insurance: Successfully leading workers compensation and self-insurance.
* Results-Oriented: Demonstrated results in delivering positive workers compensation premium results.
* Strong Communication Skills: Strong data analysis skills to efficiently and accurately identify trends and opportunities.
