About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our estimating team, responsible for both production and sales estimating across a wide range of residential projects. You will play a key role in ensuring cost accuracy, efficiency, and profitability while supporting the design, drafting, and construction teams throughout all stages of the build process.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and review detailed sales and production estimates for single and double-storey homes, duplexes, and custom designs.
* Manage bills of quantities, take-offs, and cost breakdowns for materials, labour, and subcontractor components.
* Liaise with internal departments including design, drafting, construction, and procurement to ensure consistency and accuracy of information.
* Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and value engineering solutions.
* Maintain and update databases, rate libraries, and estimating systems to ensure accurate pricing.
* Provide support and mentorship to junior estimators and contribute to ongoing process improvements within the estimating function.
* Assist with tender reviews, variations, and post-contract cost tracking as required.
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum of 3+ years' estimating experience within the residential construction industry.
* Strong background in both production (post-contract) and sales estimating (pre-contract) .
* Proven experience working across volume and custom home builds (project housing and bespoke designs).
* Proficiency in Databuild, Framework, or similar estimating software .
* Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Confident communicator with sound problem-solving abilities.
* Qualification in Building, Construction, or Estimating highly regarded (Certificate IV or Diploma level).
