Chef – Full Time
The Claisebrook Bar East Perth, WA 6004
Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 per annum plus superannuation
The Claisebrook Bar is a busy waterfront venue located in Claisebrook Cove, East Perth, offering modern pub dining, events and hospitality services in a vibrant social setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
* Assisting with menu planning, seasonal menu development and daily specials
* Monitoring food preparation, portion control and presentation to maintain consistency and minimise wastage
* Coordinating kitchen operations during service periods to ensure meals are delivered within required timeframes
* Ordering food supplies and kitchen stock while maintaining appropriate inventory levels
* Monitoring food costs, stock rotation and storage procedures to ensure quality control and minimise wastage
* Supervising and supporting kitchen staff during food preparation and service
* Assisting with staff training and maintaining effective kitchen teamwork
* Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
* Monitoring kitchen equipment and arranging maintenance or repairs where required
* Liaising with management and suppliers regarding stock requirements and kitchen operations
Qualifications and Experience Required
* Relevant AQF Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification (or equivalent) in Commercial Cookery or related field, together with at least two years of full-time relevant work experience; OR
* At least three years of full-time relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
Skills and Experience Required
* Demonstrated knowledge of culinary techniques and commercial kitchen operations
* Understanding of menu planning and recipe development
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to supervise and support kitchen staff in a fast‐paced environment
* Creativity and passion for producing high‐quality dishes and menu offerings
* Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
* Excellent knife‐handling and food preparation skills
* Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook)
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
