This newly created, high-visibility role sits at the heart of the business, influencing commercial decisions and shaping the scaling of a high-volume digital brand. The position is both strategic and hands-on, partnering closely with the General Manager to drive performance and profitability. For the right individual, this role offers a clear pathway to a future Financial Controller position.
Responsibilities
* Commercial Analysis & Business Partnering
o Deliver monthly management accounts with actionable commercial insights across the business.
o Work closely with Operations and Procurement on landed costs and inventory decisions.
o Perform three-way financial modelling, forecasting, and detailed profit and loss analysis.
o Partner with digital marketing, retail and B2B teams to assess campaign ROI, promotions, and marketing spend effectiveness.
* Financial Control & Operations
o Manage day-to-day financial operations and maintain full control of the general ledger.
o Oversee the inventory system, including inventory costing, performance analysis, and internal controls.
o Lead treasury management, cash flow forecasting, and oversight of supplier payments.
o Oversee payroll and all statutory compliance (BAS, Payroll Tax, and STP reporting).
o Manage and liaise with external accountants on annual financial statements and tax returns.
o Oversee and manage the annual insurance program.
* Strategic Leadership & Process Improvement
o Provide financial insights, strategic advice, and recommendations directly to the General Manager & Advisory CFO.
o Identify system gaps and champion continuous improvement initiatives across e-commerce, ERP, and fulfilment workflows.
o Develop and manage budgeting processes and periodic forecasts.
o Lead ongoing cost review and optimisation initiatives to harden the bottom line.
Experience & Attributes
* Qualifications: CA or CPA qualified.
* Experience: 3+ years of work experience in Management Accounting, ideally within an e-commerce or retail business.
* Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability with strong knowledge of Xero and inventory systems.
* Mindset: A commercially minded, "hands-on" operator with high energy and a strong work ethic.
* Communication: Confidence partnering with non-finance stakeholders across marketing, procurement, and operations.
