This is a leadership role within one of Sydney's most respected healthcare institutions.Responsibilities Responsible for managing the laboratory to provide an efficient and effective service across operational management, compliance management, financial planning and reporting, department performance monitoring and reporting, corporate risk management, human resources management and strategic planning.What You'll Be Doing Responsible for managing the laboratory to provide an efficient and effective service across operational management, compliance management, financial planning and reporting, department performance monitoring and reporting, corporate risk management, human resources management and strategic planning.Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualifications of at least a Bachelor Degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science, with subjects relevant to pathology or an equivalent recognised qualification relevant to Medical Laboratory Science or relevant specialtyProven leadership and operational management skills and experience including budget management, staff and resource management and maintenance of professional standards and accreditation within organisational funding and performance frameworksExtensive experience in Haematology with demonstrated understanding of Routine Haematology, Coagulation, Flow Cytometry and MorphologyExperience with quality improvement and risk management, including understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements in healthcareExperience in change management and use of financial, statistical, human resources and management data to improve laboratory efficiency and effectivenessStrategic thinking and professional networks in a pathology specialty relevant to the laboratory, and understanding of the role of public laboratories within the Australian and NSW health systemsAdvanced knowledge and operating competency with Laboratory Information Systems, Microsoft Office, Quality Management Systems and data analysis skillsCommitment to excellent customer service with robust interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholdersWhat We Can Offer Accrued Days Off in addition to Annual LeaveGenerous salary packaging options and other fringe benefitsCorporate wellbeing programs, including the Fitness PassportLearning and development opportunities, including in-house training with RTO My Health LearningOther Information Position type: PermanentWorking Rights: Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency required for permanent appointment; temporary employment may be offered to non-citizens per visa durationOccupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases: Category A position; applicants must comply with NSW Health Policy Directive PD2024_015 at their own cost prior to appointmentNew to NSW Health Pathology?
