About ICN NSW
ICN NSW (Industry Capability Network) is a not-for-profit that helps project owners and managers procure from NSW businesses—creating real work for local suppliers. In 2024/25 alone, we helped NSW SMEs secure over $400m in contracts.
The opportunity
We’re looking for a Regional Manager to grow industry capability across Illawarra and South East NSW. If you’re a relationship-builder who understands how local industry works—and you enjoy connecting suppliers with project opportunities—this role gives you the chance to make a tangible impact on jobs and regional growth.
What you’ll do
* Build strong relationships with local businesses to understand their capabilities, capacity and direction.
* Stay close to upcoming project activity across the region; develop stakeholder relationships so ICN is well-positioned to support clients.
* Work with prime contractors, procurement teams and project managers to help them meet local supply chain objectives.
* Support SMEs to strengthen their presence on Gateway by ICN (including practical tips to improve profiles).
* Network actively—run briefings, attend events and contribute to raising awareness of the ICN brand and services.
* Maintain high-quality opportunity and supplier data in Gateway by ICN and other systems to help match suppliers to work.
* Collaborate with the broader ICN NSW team, providing back-up support as needed.
About you
* Broad industry experience (technical and/or commercial). Tertiary qualifications in a technical or business discipline are desirable.
* Exposure across areas such as engineering, operations, maintenance, sales/marketing, procurement or project delivery.
* A strong network and practical knowledge of businesses across Illawarra and South East NSW.
* Confident communicator who can facilitate conversations, present to groups and write clearly.
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office and databases/CRM tools.
* You’re organised and detail-focused.
* Self-managed and motivated, with the discipline to work independently while staying connected to a wider team.
* Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the region and to Sydney as required.
Location & Travel
Preferred location is Illawarra; other locations in or near the region will be considered. The role includes visiting clients, producers and project sites across the region and in Sydney.
