A fantastic opportunity is available for Entry level to Experienced Sous Chef to join our team,. As the Sous Chef, you will be an integral part of our business and join the small kitchen team in day to day operation and Functions. The primary purpose of this role is to support in the daily trade of the high volume cooking by cooking and delivering Modern Pub Style Meals.

Prepare and produce a wide variety of foods and plan seasonal menus.

Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.

Responsible for orders and maintaining good stock and waste control.

Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of foods are of the highest quality at all times.

Ensure highest levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basis.

Ensure that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions

Ensure the adequacy of supplies at cooking stations

Assist in the training of junior and apprentice chefs

Assist in any menu tasting preparations

Must be able to work weekends & nights.

Ensure the hygiene and food safety standards are met in all stages of food preparation, starting with the ingredients and ending with the finished dish which leaves the kitchen door;

Ensure all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are carefully adhered to.

Skills and experience

Time management - must estimate the necessary time needed for each dish, as well as the time spent by each employee when preparing different meals;

Good communication abilities;

Active listening and learning - understanding what others say, asking questions for an insight into the problem and gathering information for a solution are essential;

Attention to detail - essential that the dishes are perfect when they leave the kitchen. A meticulous eye will instantly see possible issues and will fix them;

Initiative - a high level of initiative and passion;

Flexibility - must be flexible and adapt easily to new working conditions, so that the results are always the best;

Good team spirit;

Pride in one's work.
