Horticultural Supervisor
This is a key leadership role within our horticulture department. We are seeking an experienced Horticulturist Tradesperson to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our gardens and grounds.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage a team of gardeners, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
* Develop and implement horticultural maintenance programs, adhering to Council regulations and industry standards.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure that horticultural services align with overall Council objectives.
* Maintain accurate records of garden activities, including work schedules and inventory management.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of new projects and initiatives, enhancing the beauty and biodiversity of our gardens.
* Cultivate strong relationships with local communities, fostering partnerships and promoting Council's values of accessibility, respect, energy, safety, and creativity.
* Requirements:
* Degree in Horticulture or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Proven track record of leading and managing teams, with expertise in staff supervision, motivation, and performance evaluation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
* Able to physically perform a range of gardening duties, including manual labor.
* Current Class C driver license, with a safe driving record.
