Job Title: Maintenance Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Specialist to join our team.
Job Description:
This is a varied and busy role that involves routine and reactive maintenance, as well as general upkeep of the building and its assets. As part of the Engineering department, you will work closely with the team to ensure the smooth operation of all hotel systems and services.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out assigned tasks, including physical duties such as lifting and transporting equipment, climbing ladders, and working in enclosed areas.
* Repairing and maintaining electrical, mechanical, plumbing, kitchen, and heating systems, as well as associated equipment.
* Responding to internal job request system in a timely manner.
* Inspecting and repairing plumbing deficiencies throughout the hotel.
* Working from daily handover reports assigned by your manager and providing feedback when the work is completed.
* Maintaining the efficiency of hotel systems, plant, and equipment.
* Informing your manager about equipment deficiencies, relevant stock control, and spare parts as necessary.
* Complying with all systems, procedures, and company policies.
* Being proactive in developing individual skills.
* Being self-motivated and performing at the highest level.
* Regularly attending communication meetings held within the department.
* Ensuring planned training is completed.
* Maintaining professional, efficient, and thorough communication between Engineering and all other hotel areas.
* Responding to and managing departmental change as required by the hotel, Hilton, government legislation, or industry trends.
* Maintaining grooming standards in line with hotel policy.
* Assisting with sustainability programs and driving projects to meet Hilton's objectives.
* Performing call-out duties and other assignments as required.
* Adapting to flexible rostering on rotating shifts.
* Responding directly to guest maintenance requests.
* Ensuring guest comfort and respect in relation to your role and impact as a Maintenance Specialist.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing/Gas Fitting (advantageous).
* Excellent communication skills in English.
* A positive attitude and willingness to interact with the overall team.
* High attention to detail, flexibility, and efficiency.
* The ability to train and develop team members.
