We are currently seeking a commercially minded Merchandise Planner to join our team and drive the financial performance of our Women's Apparel category across all regions. Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maximising sales and profit through strategic planning, in-season trading, and detailed analysis. You'll collaborate closely with Buying, Retail and Leadership teams to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.
The Role
* Develop and execute seasonal merchandise plans, including sales, stock, OTB, and markdowns.
* Analyse and optimise inventory levels, stock turns, and size ratios.
* Review in-season performance and implement strategies to maximise profitability.
* Manage store grading, allocations, and replenishment strategies.
* Plan markdowns, manage aged inventory, and execute clearance strategies.
* Prepare and present trading reports with strategic recommendations.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders, including General Managers, State Managers and Designers.
* Lead and develop direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Ensure a safe and collaborative working environment while maintaining best practices.
* On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.
The Ideal Candidate
* A minimum of 5 years of merchandise planning experience within fashion apparel retail.
* Strong understanding of merchandise financial planning, OTB management, and inventory control.
* Proven experience in range and option planning, forecasting, and markdown strategies.
* Proficiency in merchandise planning systems and Excel.
* Highly analytical with a commercial mindset and strong attention to detail.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to influence decision-making.
* Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
* A passion for fashion, trends, and delivering customer-focused results.
