About this role:
SmartStream is a division of Wormall Group and provides a huge range of precast concrete products for civil construction projects in WA.
You'll find many of our products used in subdivisions and land development projects around Australia.
Our workshop based in Cardup (near Byford) has one of WA's few rotational molding operations and is in need of a few more hands to the crew to help with upcoming workloads.
Key Responsibilities
Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
Select, clean, and prepare metal stock and materials for fabrication
Cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machines
Shape and bend metal components and pipes using hand tools, machinery, heating, and hammering techniques
Align parts to be joined using appropriate hand tools and measuring instruments
Join metal sections through welding (MIG, TIG, Arc), bolting, and riveting methods
Examine completed welds for bead width, penetration, and overall precision
Finish and clean welded products to meet quality and safety standards
Maintain a safe and clean work area, adhering to all WHS policies and procedures
What You'll Bring
Demonstrated experience in a similar workshop or field-based role
Proficiency in various welding techniques and metal fabrication
Ability to interpret and work from detailed technical drawings
Strong commitment to safe work practices and quality standards
Australian Driver's Licence (mandatory)
Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
Desirable Qualifications
Working at Heights certification
Confined Space Entry certification
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Ticket
Dogman or Rigger Ticket
