Fountain Gate Secondary College is a Year 7‑12 provider located in the City of Casey, approximately 40 kilometres from Melbourne Central Business District. The school currently enrolls about 1,222 students and employs a team comprising a Principal, Assistant Principals, Leading Teachers, Learning Specialists, Teachers, and Education Support staff.
Role
The successful applicant will provide instrumental instruction to students of guitar and bass guitar at all levels, from beginning to advanced. Responsibilities include:
* Direct instruction of guitar and bass guitar to group and individual students.
* Rehearse and contribute to ensemble programs and concert nights.
* Co‑develop, implement, and evaluate the Music curriculum area within the school.
* Undertake additional duties as directed by the School Principal.
* Adhere to the school timetable and professional ethos.
* Create a positive learning environment aligned with the school's well‑being and pastoral care policies.
Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated capacity to provide tailored, individual support to instrumental music students in a school setting.
* Capability to work as a member of the performing arts team.
* High level oral and written communication skills and the ability to develop constructive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader community.
* Technical knowledge and expertise in guitar and bass guitar.
* Experience in developing and implementing ensemble programs for instrumental music students.
