About the Role
Ironbark is seeking a commercially astute and growth-focused executive to join our Senior Management Team (SMT) as General Manager – Commercial Services.
This leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing the commercial strategy for Ironbark’s commercial arms, with a strong focus on business development, client growth, and market expansion. The role involves identifying and pursuing new commercial opportunities, overseeing pricing and tender strategies, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability across our commercial portfolio.
You will work closely with the CEO, Senior Management Team, Commercial Operations Manager and key partners to lead strategic growth, drive innovation and deliver impactful results.
Key Accountabilities
* Commercial Strategy and Business Development: Drive enterprise growth through market expansion, tendering and strategic client engagement.
* Revenue and Market Expansion: Develop and maintain a strong commercial pipeline to increase revenue and diversify services.
* Enterprise Oversight: Oversee financial performance, innovation and continuous improvement across all business units.
* Operational Leadership : Align operational delivery with strategic goals and ensure service excellence and risk control.
* People and Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team through mentoring and succession planning.
* Stakeholder Engagement and Brand Leadership: Strengthen relationships and represent Ironbark in key forums, ensuring brand consistency and visibility.
* Governance and Risk: Maintain compliance and contribute to risk management and organisational policy.
* Executive Leadership: Support whole-of-organisation strategy and represent commercial interests at the senior level..
About You
You are a results-driven and people-centred executive with a strong track record in leading commercial portfolios, securing new business and delivering sustainable growth. You combine commercial acumen with inclusive, values-based leadership, building high-performing teams and trusted relationships across community, corporate, commercial, and government sectors.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven executive leadership experience in commercial operations, business development or enterprise strategy
* Demonstrated success in growing revenue, securing contracts and expanding into new markets or service sectors
* Strong experience in tendering, pricing strategy and client acquisition
* High-level financial acumen including budgeting, performance tracking and profitability modelling
* Outstanding relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills across sectors
* Strong communication skills including experience preparing proposals and reports for executive and Board audiences
