**About the Division
Integration and Coordination Division leads futures thinking and foresight in QRA, enabling a strategic approach to recovery and resilience in an environment of increasingly severe and frequent disaster events. To achieve this, Integration and Coordination Division will excel at stakeholder engagement, promote higher awareness of national and international best practice, influence national strategy, as well as catalyse whole of government planning and action to support the recovery and resilience of Queensland communities.
About the Team
The Hazard and Risk unit leads the development of the disaster risk management approach in Queensland, by ensuring government and communities have access to scientifically informed, reliable hazard and risk information, management processes and products that is fit for purpose and supports integrated disaster risk reduction and management practice. The unit consists of Flood Risk Management, Geographical Information Systems and Disaster Risk Management teams.
About the Role
Provide key support towards the coordination of strategic priorities including the implementation of the Queensland Flood Risk Management Framework (QFRMF).
Provide policy oversight in the flood warning gauge network, working in partnership with Bureau of Meteorology and local government authorities to identify state-wide priority flood mitigation activities and indicate projects for investment.
Participate in working groups to develop metrics to measure progress and success in flood risk management in Queensland.
Represent QRA at stakeholder meetings and events with relevant industry and community organisations, negotiate agreed outcomes and identify where learnings can be incorporated into communication and education strategies, projects and policies.
Manage flood risk projects including monitoring and evaluating outcomes against performance targets.
Lead and model highly collaborative internal relationships through the sharing of knowledge, experience and reflections as part of a wider team of multi-disciplinary specialists.
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to assist in the delivery of strategic and operational objectives by modelling collaborative relationships.
This role leads a team of two and reports to the Manager, Flood Risk Management.
