School Psychologist – Scone Public School
Position details: Full‐time (1.0 FTE). Commencing on 20 July 2026 at Scone Public School, Central & North Coasts – Newcastle & Hunter Valley.
Key accountabilities:
* Provide individual and group counseling and short‐term therapeutic interventions for students.
* Administer cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments, report findings and collaborate on interventions.
* Work with the principal, school staff and student support services to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes.
* Contribute to students' social, emotional, and academic development and support those with complex behavioural needs.
* Collaborate with learning and support teams, parents, carers and external agencies to develop school‐based support.
* Respond as part of a team to assist schools experiencing serious incidents.
* Refer students or families to other agencies when appropriate.
* Engage with and implement the Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
Essential requirements:
* Knowledge of the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy, Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG Inc. and the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
* General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Valid and current Working with Children Check (WWCC) – NSW.
* Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between work sites (unrestricted provisional or full).
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
