Remuneration: $37.21 – $43.23 per hour, including superannuation and leave loading.
About the Role
School Learning Support Officers provide support for students with an identified diverse learning need, including disability, in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction and supervision of a teacher. Their duties involve student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required, and specialised support for students in pre‐school, vision, hearing and bilingual streams. Officers in these streams have additional duties on top of the general responsibilities.
Essential Requirements
* Working with Children Check clearance.
* Completion of mandatory training required by the Department of Education and willingness to undertake first aid training relevant to the role.
* Training to administer medications – provided as required.
* Health support training – provided as required (subject to transition provisions).
Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to work with students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities.
* Awareness of the needs of students with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities.
* Effective communication skills.
