The Remote Draftsman is responsible for producing high-quality, accurate technical drawings for Australian residential and commercial projects.
This role bridges the gap between conceptual design and construction, ensuring all documentation complies with Australian building codes and local council standards.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work autonomously while collaborating with AU-based architects and engineers.
Documentation: Prepare detailed 2D/3D drawings including Floor Plans, Elevations, Sections, and Construction Details.
Compliance: Ensure all drawings adhere to NCC/BCA (Building Code of Australia) and relevant Australian Standards (AS).
Project Lifecycle: Assist in the preparation of drawings for DA (Development Application), CC (Construction Certificate), and Tender packages.
Collaboration: Coordinate with consultants (Structural, Civil, Hydraulic) to integrate their designs into the master architectural set.
Revisions: Implement markups and design changes accurately and within tight project deadlines.
Quality Control: Conduct internal audits of drawings to ensure consistency in line weights, annotations, and scaling according to the firms CAD/BIM standards.
Experience: Minimum 35 years of drafting experience, with at least 2 years specifically working on Australian projects.
Software Mastery: Proficient in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, or SketchUp).
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian timber framing codes (AS ****) and masonry standards.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal English skills, with the ability to interpret technical instructions from AU-based managers.
Work Ethics: Proven ability to manage time effectively in a remote setting and meet strict Australian project deadlines.
Education: Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Drafting, or Civil Engineering.
