Are you a reliable Support Worker looking for meaningful hours? We know that in the Shoalhaven, driving back and forth for short shifts can be frustrating.
At Nurse Next Door, we do things differently. We are looking for team members to join us in the Jervis Bay Area (specifically Worrowing Heights, Tomerong & Sanctuary Point), supporting clients with MND and Paraplegia.
* We Roster Smarter: We aim to give you "runs" of shifts so you leave the house for a solid block of income.
* We Train You: You don't need to be an expert. We provide Paid Training in Spinal Cord & MND care.
* We Keep You Safe: Our heavy morning routines are 2-Assist (working with a partner).

Rostering & Travel Support
To ensure this role is financially viable for candidates in Nowra:
* Consolidated Shifts: We prioritize rostering "runs" of shifts (e.g. Morning -> Social -> Mid-day) so you leave the house for a meaningful block of income.
* Paid Inter-Client Travel: We pay Travel Time & Kilometers whenever you travel between clients during your shift run.
* High-Value Shifts: Our evening shifts (8:30 pm – 10:30 pm) are shorter but attract High Penalty Rates, making them an excellent "top-up" for your income.
Key Shifts & Availability
We have shifts available 7 days a week (Monday – Sunday). We are looking for staff with flexible availability to cover a mix of the following:
Morning Shifts (07:00 – 10:00):
* 2-Assist Model: Work in a 2-person team for safety. You are supported, not working alone during heavy lifting.
Daytime Support (Variable):
* Mid-Day Availability: We have various social and domestic shifts available between morning and evening routines. While these vary week-to-week, they help build out your roster into a full day.
Evening Shifts (20:30 – 22:30):
* High Penalty Rates: Taking advantage of evening/weekend loadings. Perfect for Nursing Students or locals seeking a "second income".
Complex Care — Experience vs. Willingness to Learn
We don't expect you to be an expert from Day 1.
* You bring the basics: You must be competent in Manual Handling (using hoists/slide sheets) and personal care.
* We provide the training: We provide paid training on the specific needs of MND, Spinal Care, and Bowel Care. Candidates willing to be trained in these areas are highly encouraged to apply.
Remuneration & Benefits
We pay strictly in accordance with the SCHADS Award (Casual).
* Base Rate: Paid at Award Level (dependent on qualifications/experience).
* Penalty Rates: Significantly higher rates apply for Evening (finishing after 8pm), Saturday, and Sunday shifts.
* Safety Focus: Work in a supported environment with 2-assist protocols for major transfers.
* Allowances: We pay all applicable allowances including Broken Shift Allowance and Travel Time/KMs (between clients).
Essential Requirements
* Minimum Qualification: Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care/Disability) OR relevant industry experience demonstrating proficiency in manual handling.
* Manual Handling Competence: Must be confident assisting with transfers and using equipment (Hoists).
* Reliable Transport: MANDATORY: You must have a reliable vehicle to travel to/between clients in the Jervis Bay Area.
* Clearances: NDIS Worker Screening Check, WWCC, and National Police Check.
