Experienced Visual Arts educators are invited to apply for a dynamic teaching opportunity in a new, six-level high-rise school located in Sydney. With 160 mainstream Year 7 students and three Autism support classes, the school will continue to roll out year groups in subsequent years with a maximum capacity of 1500.
The student population is highly diverse, comprising 87% from a language background other than English and a rich mix of talents and learning profiles. The school's purpose-built Visual Arts learning spaces are well-equipped, including light-filled studios, a darkroom, two kilns, and specialist storage for three-dimensional works.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape a growing CAPA faculty from the ground up, contribute to innovative programs, and inspire students from a wide range of cultural and language backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
* Approval to teach Visual Arts and Visual Design, and approval to or willingness to teach Photographic and Digital Media.
* Demonstrated ability to use evidence-based teaching strategies to maximise learning outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
* Capacity to work collaboratively to design and deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs and resources.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills to contribute to school-wide initiatives that strengthen relationships across the CAPA faculty and with the broader school community.
