The opportunity
We are looking for a client focused individual with experience in the Victorian Volume Residential industry, who has a high level of drive & motivation to provide innovative & practical engineering designs that meet client requirements.
This role is suited to candidates with strong, proven experience in Volume Residential housing design.
Duties
* Deliver engineering designs specifically suited to the demands, timeframes and construction methods typical of Volume Residential housing projects in Victoria
* Ensure that all engineering designs adhere to Australian Standards and Structerre's design philosophy
* Work with clients and local councils to understand their design requirements
* Interpret architectural drawings for design considerations
* Liaise with clients and local councils in-person, via phone and email
* Liaise with colleagues and other departments as requested
* Work independently and in collaboration with other experienced/senior engineers
In addition, the successful applicant will have
* A completed Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering from an institution recognised by Engineers Australia
* Professional Engineering Registration is desired
* 5 years' experience specifically within the Volume Residential building industry with exposure to:
* Retaining walls
* Demonstrated, hands-on experience working within a high-volume residential production environment and familiarity with standard builder practices, documentation and workflows
* A sound understanding of Engineering Principles, Australian Building Codes and Australian Design Standards
* A strong client focus and desire to deliver practical, sustainable and effective engineering solutions
* An ability to use technical engineering/civil software
* Good interpersonal skills
* Strong attention to detail
* A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset and the ability to contribute constructively to the day-to-day operations and culture of the team
