The Company
Our client is a successful and well-established Asian food distribution company based in Western Sydney with over 3,000 product types from over 45 brands.
They are the leading national company with a presence over the past 30+ years.
The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines within a multi-site warehousing/distribution/blue collar workplace environment. You will play a crucial role in promoting a safe working environment, conducting risk assessment, health and wellbeing, injury prevention, work rehabilitation and HR support.
Responsibilities
4. Identify and assess hazards, risks and control measures for a specific operation or process
5. Account for all aspects for health, safety, wellbeing, workers compensation and rehabilitation
6. Conduct ongoing review of operations and processes to identify potential hazards, risks and control measures that should be implemented to reduce these risks, including all costs involved in implementing such measures.
7. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, making recommendations for improvements
8. Provide WHS training

Skills & Experience
9. 3+ years WHS experience in a similar role within a warehousing/distribution/blue collar workplace environment
10. In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
11. Accredited qualifications in WHS
12. Experience with writing reports and policies for health and safety
13. Ability to communicate in both Chinese and English
