The Engineer, Electronics & Mechatronics Design will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions within a collaborative project delivery team structure. This position is responsible for problem solving, designing, testing, and implementing mechatronic engineering solutions, ensuring all technical documentation is completed accurately and on time. The role applies advanced engineering principles to support product development and project execution from concept through to delivery. Location: This 1-year fixed term position reports to the Hardware Engineering Manager and is part of the R&D department located in Mount Waverley, Melbourne and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Independently conduct design activities that include but are not limited to: Robotics, Printed Circuit Board Assemblies and system analysis, while following R&D standard work processes such as planning, documentation and visual management. Applying engineering methods and manufacturing process requirements to design components, mechanisms, and assemblies in the context of reliability improvements, VAVE, compliance requirements (e.g. RoHS), obsolescence or new product development. Support in root cause analysis and solving technical problems with instruments in Production or in the field. Prototype building including design, construction and programming to run functional and verification testing of products. Provide support to the rest of the business in response to requests for assistance in matters relating to engineering issues The essential requirements of the job include: Degree qualified in Mechatronics Engineering or Electronics Engineering. At least 2 years of relevant experience within highly regulated industries (medical devices, aerospace, automotive, defense). Good understanding of hybrid mechanical, electronic and software systems comprising of sensors, micro-controllers, motors, heating/cooling systems, pneumatics and fluidics Hands-on experience in prototype building, including design, construction, and programming to run functional and verification testing of products Capable to establish detailed actions plan based on high-level milestones and work autonomously to drive to completion Positive, self-motivated disposition and personal accountability, with strong sense of urgency. Highly desirable: Proficient at delivering robust and high-quality electronics solutions (compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements) Experience in medical device or other heavily regulated industries Familiarity with Altium, NX CAD software package Join our winning team today.
