Regulatory and Complex Disputes Leadership
As a senior lawyer, you will lead the Regulatory and Complex Disputes (RCD) unit at the Department of Education.
This role is focused on providing expert legal advice to support the delivery of education services. You will work closely with Directors and other Principal Lawyers and Managers across the branch.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the RCD unit to provide legal advice on matters including occupational health and safety, complex disputes, FOI and privacy, coronial investigations, and school community safety.
* Manage litigation in nominated areas requiring collaboration with directors and other lawyers.
* Develop and implement strategies for prioritizing matters and providing urgent advice when needed.
Requirements:
* Prioritization skills for providing timely and effective advice.
* Excellent communication, leadership, people management, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience in litigation and legal practice relevant to education, including occupational health and safety, FOI and privacy, and regulatory matters affecting schools and early childhood services.
