You will benefit from close links to services across the Continuing Care Stream, including the in-patient units of both the Fitzroy and Kew Campus’ Rehabilitation Units. The Rehab@Home (R@H) Advanced Trainee is a key member of a dedicated and highly skilled rehabilitation team, providing care to a diverse community-based rehabilitation cohort. You will be responsible for the day-to-day medical management of up to 20 Rehab@Home patients and 2 Pathways to Home patients, working from the unit base at St George’s Hospital. The role involves close collaboration with a Consultant, Resident Medical Officer, Nursing staff, and Allied Health professionals to provide comprehensive medical oversight, rehabilitation plan development, and coordination of multidisciplinary team meetings. We are seeking enthusiastic, collaborative trainees with strong communication and clinical skills to join our Advanced Trainee (AT) program in 2027. Successful candidates will: Perform the duties of the position to a high standard under appropriate supervision. Actively support patients, families, and carers to make informed decisions about treatment and ongoing care. Communicate effectively and collaborate with patients, families, carers, general practitioners, colleagues, and broader health and social support networks. Key Responsibilities: Provision of day-to-day safe medical care for admitted community rehabilitation patients through: Home visits Telehealth consultations Optional attendance at specialist clinics on a rotational basis, including: General Rehabilitation Clinic Interventional Spasticity Service Attendance at: Daily ward management meetings Weekly case conferences Family meetings Supervision and support of junior medical staff Participation in: In-service education for the rehabilitation team Undergraduate medical teaching Research and quality improvement activities within the service Participation in the after-hours on-call roster for St George’s Hospital Education & Training You will have access to a comprehensive education program, including: Weekly supervision sessions Weekly RMTV training program Fortnightly Departmental Education Program Weekly SVHM Medical Grand Rounds Access to multiple medical and surgical forums Mentoring by a wide range of experienced Rehabilitation Medicine Physicians Rotations commencing: February 2027 and August 2027 Term: 6-month rotation Location: Kew Campus Classification: HM25–HM30 Classifications for this position will range from HM25 - HM30 ($129,048.40 - $177,622.12) pro rata for part-time.
