Position Summary
This newly created role is an exciting opportunity to join our finance team.
The Financial Accountant - Sustainability and Reporting is responsible for the development, preparation, coordination and delivery of mandatory environmental, social and governance (ESG) metrics and reporting, including climate and sustainability, in line with Australian legislated reporting requirements for the Incat Group of Companies (the Group).
This role will also support the Finance Manager with general financial accounting and management reporting, vessel and financial budgeting, and other corporate finance needs.
Qualifications and Experience
* This role would suit a candidate who has 3 + years' experience working in a BIG 4 CA Firm or in a similar Senior Financial Accountant role within a large organisation.
* Bachelor of Business, or a related discipline.
* A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification.
* Sustainability or climate-related qualifications or accounting technical ESG experience are desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, prepare and coordinate the Group's mandatory reporting, including sustainability and climate disclosures, in accordance with Australian legislation and accounting standards.
* Collect, validate, analyse and maintain data requirements for ESG reporting, including but not limited to climate related data such as greenhouse gas emissions and carbon accounting, and sustainability metrics. This may include software identification, implementation and ongoing management.
* Support the development and implementation of ESG strategies and roadmaps. Monitor progress and KPIs.
* Prepare and maintain Group ESG related policies, internal processes and data controls.
* Assist and liaise with external audit function in relation to the audit of ESG reporting, providing required reporting, documentation and supporting evidence.
* Develop and prepare internal operational and financial reporting, metrics and analysis of a range of data sets for different user needs on an ongoing basis.
