Job Title: Vision Grading Technician – 2IC
Dons Fort Packing is seeking an experienced Vision Grading Technician – 2IC to join our dynamic fresh produce team in Childers, QLD. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the optical grading process, ensuring our high-quality produce meets industry standards. With a focus on efficiency and accuracy, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our operations and contributing to the overall success of our organization.
What you'll be doing
Operate and monitor TOMRA/Compac optical grading systems to ensure accurate fruit sizing and quality sorting.
Perform machine start-ups, calibrations, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance.
Support and, when required, supervise packing-line staff to ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently met.
Work closely with QC, floor supervisors, and management to maintain smooth and efficient shed operations.
Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements.
What we're looking for
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar optical grading technician or supervisor role within the fresh produce industry.
Demonstrated expertise in operating and maintaining optical grading equipment and systems.
Strong understanding of fresh produce quality standards and grading procedures.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities responding quickly to machine or production line issues.
Proficient in process optimization.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Commitment to upholding food safety and quality standards.
Previous experience in a fruit or fresh-produce packing shed is mandatory.
